This car is one of the most interesting constructions from the famous French manufacturer – it was designed specifically to be a city car. For any standard manufacturer it could mean literally anything of small size, but for Aixam a „city car” has a very special meaning. If you need a really economical and safe city cruiser, you should definitely buy a used Aixam City.
The used Aixam City is a tiny, compact, two door vehicle with FF layout( front engine, front wheel drive )and equipped with a small, 400 cc two cylinder diesel engine producing about 6 horsepower and able to reach maximum speed of 28 mph( 45 km/h ). This may seem ridiculous at first glance, but if you consider the fact that when city cruising you rarely drive faster than about 25 mph, the reason behind that kind of power and engine becomes clear. It’s also worth mentioning that the used Aixam City is a very economical machine: its fuel consumption is about 2, 9 litre per 100 km. Impressive, I have to say. Transmission of this tiny car is a three speed automatic gearbox and there’s no option for the manual one( because there’s even no need for manual transmission ). Suspension of the used Aixam City consists of independent MacPherson struts at the front and the trailing arms at the rear.
